There have been lots of questions lately about whether or not development has stopped or slowed to a near standstill on Joomla! 1.5. I wanted to clear up a few things briefly and give you all a quick update.
There are lots of things going on with development, anyone who follows SVN will notice all the changes that happen daily. We are working very hard to make sure that the framework is as solid and flexible as possible before the beta release milestone. Part of this process has been refactoring all of the core components and modules to allow for a full separation of presentation and business/domain logic. We are approaching the end of this process and working feverishly to get it resolved. As for the tasks on the forge, some tasks are HUGE, some are small. They all, however, are the same size in the task tracker on the forge. It should be noted that until we have something worthwhile to tell you guys… there will likely be not a lot of blog posting or the like. I personally don’t like just posting for the sake of posting. It is all a work in progress and we greatly appreciate your patience with us as we try to get as close to perfect as we can.
Some of you will have noticed that small things break from time to time in the trunk as we rework sections of the codebase. This is something to be expected and we for the most part are very aware of what is broken

you guys do a fantastic job letting us know.
During the alpha stage (which we are currently in) things will get moved around, we will try new ways of doing something, etc.. this is all intended to make sure we find the most stable and flexible way of doing things so that the sites you build on this system and the extensions you write on this framework are as stable and secure as they can possibly be.
I/We do thank you for your input on everything and as a personal note, I truly thank you all for the patience you’ve shown in this extremely time consuming and I do think fruitful process of building 1.5. Whether you realize it or not, we are revolutionizing the platform.
