Past months the Quality and Testing team was in the lead of the 1.0.x release branch. With the help of the development working group a lot of work has been done to create the latest 1.0.x release. With combined forces we are working on getting all open bugs reviewed and if possible solved, and we are working hard on creating a release candidate for Joomla! 1.0.12. The release date for this version is close.

Those who submit artefacts to the forge will have noticed that from today on the tracker for Joomla! 1.0.x is closed. The Quality and Testing team has set a freeze on new artefacts until 1.0.12 has been released. After this, the ability to create artefacts will be re-opened again. From there on we only create maintenance releases of 1.0.x. These releases will only appear when critical bugs are discovered, no new features to 1.0.x will be added any more. From here we will fully focus on creating 1.5 beta-2 and hopefully very soon a release candidate for 1.5.
