Johan, Chris and Louis celebrating!Joomla! won Best Linux / Open Source Project at UK Linux and Open Source Awards 2006, in London tonight.

This is the second year running, the Joomla! team has won the prestigious award. Louis Landry, Johan Jansens and Peter Russell accepted the award from LinuxUser and Developer magazine publisher Maggie Meer.

Johan described the win for Joomla! as "one for the community". "The buzz around the Joomla! project is driven by our huge user base this translates into what is fast becoming the most popular open source framework going," Johan said.

Chris Adams, of Rochen, who is a major sponsor of the Joomla! project was nominated as Best Linux Open Source ISP / Internet Host. Unfortunately, Rochen missed out this year but it was great to have Rochen with us to celebrate. "Chris and the Rochen guys are part of the Joomla! family ... this is as much Rochen's award as it is the developers and the communities."

¡ Johan, Chris y Louis están celebrando! Joomla! ganó el Best Linux / Open Source Project, en el UK Linux and Open Source Awards 2006, en Londres esta noche.

En el segundo año de funcionamiento, el equipo Joomla! ha ganado este prestigioso premio. Louis Landry, Johan Jansens y Peter Russell recibieron el premio de la editora de la revista LinuxUser and Developer, Maggie Meer.

Johan describió el triunfo para Joomla! como “uno para la comunidad”. ¡“La agitación alrededor del proyecto Joomla! es manejado por nuestra enorme base del usuario lo que se traduce en que rápidamente se esta convirtiendo en el framework opensource más popular” dijo Johan.

Chris Adams, de Rochen, que es un patrocinador importante del proyecto Joomla! fue nominado como el mejor Linux Open Source ISP / Internet Host. Desafortunadamente, Rochen desapareció este año pero fue grandioso tener a Rochen celebrando con nosotros. “Chris y la gente de Rochen son parte de la familia Joomla! … este premio es tanto para Rochen como para los desarrolladores y las comunidades.”
